Q&A With The Designer: Aimee Harrison
1. What is your biggest fear?
I
think my biggest fear is losing my ability to work. I have Narcolepsy
with Cataplexy and it can be really difficult to stay awake long enough
to get the work done that I need sometimes. Most times. I am afraid of
what will happen if I lose the ability to stay awake long enough.
2. If you lived 500 years what would your profession be?
I would be an artist. I think. I can't imagine doing anything else and being happy. I need to create.
3. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?
It
would be extremely simple. I need to work within my capacity. I imagine
my perfect day to be a day in spring that is about 75 and sunny sitting
under my beautiful starburst honeylocust tree. I would like to spend
the entire afternoon out in the beautiful weather reading my favorite
books and drinking my coffee or water. I would have my dog at my feet
and Tyler working in the garden in front of me and the music of Bob
Marley playing on the phone. I do this some days and it is the perfect
day to me. Simple.
4. What is your favorite childhood memory?
I
have many. But one of them is playing on our newly built deck. I used
to drape blankets over the railings and set up little tents with my best
friend, Stephanie, and play house or barbies in there. There was
something really lovely and innocent about it.
5. Do you collect anything?
I
don't exactly collect anything anymore but I used to collect a
dinnerware collection from the sixties and I used to collection carnival
glassware. I unfortunately have lost a lot of my stuff in moves and it
guts me.
To finish off we would love to share some of Aimee Harrison’s favorite layouts:
