My name is Tricia (the designer behind A Giving Heart Studio). I married my high school sweetheart 33 years ago, and we were blessed with a daughter and son, who are now young adults. (No grandchildren - yet). Family and faith are very important to us.

I discovered digital scrapbooking in 2009 when I was making a fancy photo slideshow with motion effects for my family and needed some graphics to go with the special occasions in the photos. Before that, I had no idea there was such a thing as digital scrapbooking! (Sadly, my paper scrapbooking supplies were still sitting in the bin where I put them immediately after purchase.) I've always enjoyed working on computers, so it was a good fit.

Soon after, I joined some creative teams and started a blog (called The Happy Dandelion back then - my username was Lulutoo). I designed a few freebies (mostly for color challenges), and arranged some quickpages, clusters and such with one designer's products (from one of my CTs) that she then sold in her store. After several years, I realized that I was on the computer just TOO much, and so I quit all of my teams. I kept making a daily digital scrapbooking page for my Bible verse blog, but that was mostly it.

Fast forward a few years... eventually, I decided to tackle the chore of sifting through my old external hard drive to move the digital goodies from there to my current computer. While doing so, I felt inspired to create designs using some of the CU products that I had either purchased or downloaded as freebies. I learned so much while experimenting, and am still learning - all while enjoying it tremendously.

I chose this designer name because it's one of the most important things in life to be giving and have a big heart. I always hope and pray that applies to me, and I want to give back to the digital scrapbooking community. I have been blessed by SO many freebies myself! It's so much fun sharing my digital talents (if you can call them that) with others. Besides the motion video slideshow I mentioned earlier (it turned out to be 90 minutes long and took six months to make!), I've made several digital scrapbook page books and designed many websites, business cards and things like that for friends and family as well as various churches we attended over the years.

When I'm designing, I like to listen to Christian music (and sing along, of course!) Another thing I enjoy is watching black & white movies with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. (I have an old TV with a DVD player in it in my office that I couldn't bring myself to recycle when it still works fine.) Since I've seen all of the movies and the plots are predictable, I don't really need to pay close attention, but I just enjoy the nostalgia of those days gone by. Even though I didn't experience them firsthand, I did watch those movies with my mom when I was younger. I also enjoy movies with Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Grace Kelley, Rita Hayworth, Katharine Hepburn and too many others to mention.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this blog and get to know me a little bit. You're specially invited to browse my store HERE. If you find something you like, you can get it at a nice discount during the sale that I have going on. Please also grab as many of my freebies as you like if you haven't already, and I would love it if you would share any layouts you make with my designs with me!

Here is a little peek at some of the products just added to my store here at MyMemories.com:
