Scrap Inspiration with Happy Scrap Arts

Hi, my name is Eileen aka Happy Scrap Arts.

After my blog series Scrapping Planners, I am back this year with a blog series full of inspiration to scrap your photos. Everyday photos or events, lots of them deserve to be embellished with some elements, clusters and a background of course. Doesn't matter if you are making a photobook or just 1 page.

Some photos are just beautiful enough to be used on a page without many elements. This time I'll talk about 1 photo on your layout and make that photo really stand out on your page.

So, find that one photo you want to scrap and make it stand out on your page.

On this page I used a photo of flowers I photographed in a park. I just fell in love with the photo, the colors of the flowers etc. so I just had to scrap it. And the color of the flowers matched just perfectly with my latest collection Dream. So, I used my mask from the March mask challenge and used a stacked paper I made with this collection. The background had just the perfect color.

This page didn't need much more and the photo is really standing out on the page.

Another page I made with a big photo blended into the background. I masked the photo and then also used a little framed version of the same photo in front. Repeating the photo makes it really stand out on the page. You can use some little elements behind the framed photo, like a rope, a branch, a doodle or an accent. And then use a word art. Or make a word art yourself, with the date of the photo, the place, the name of the person etc.

On this page I used a big photo on 1 side of the page and left a little space on the other side to embellish the page with some elements.

You can also do this by using your photo on top, or at the bottom.

When you use a big photo on your page you can make 1 spot of the photo stand out even more by using a frame on that place. I use masks on the big photo in most of these examples.

On this last page the photo is over the whole page and then I played with the transparency. I duplicated the photo and used a mask on it, so that part of the photo is standing out on the page.

And of course, making a white space page makes your photo really stand out.
A lot of empty space and a little photo with just a few elements or a word art.

Remember, if you want to let your photo stand out on a page, do not use to many elements, it will take the focus of the photo. Use just a few to embellish the page or photo and use a word art/journaling to comment the photo. Just keep it clean and simple.
