Making your own journal cards in My Memories Suite by Happy Scrap Arts

Journal cards are great to use on a scrapbook page or in a photobook, maybe you bought some ready to use but I think it will be great to teach you how to make some of your own. You can make journal cards with any kit or even just by using the My Memories Suite software.

Open the software and activate the shape tool. Choose they shape you would like to use for your journal card. It can be square, rectangle, circle or many other shapes.

You will now choose the background color for your journal card.

You can choose a color to match your page, or to match your photo or some elements you want to use.

To do so activate the shape and then click on color, a window will open and you can choose a color that will be applied to the shape.

If you want to use a kit, you can add a background paper to the shape.

To apply a background on the shape activate the shape and now click on photo, then browse to the paper you want to use.

I like to use a patterned paper and a solid color/paper. So I placed another shape on top of the first shape and applied a patterned paper to this shape, then you can add a shadow if you want.

Now you can embellish your card. Using other shapes, like a talk bubble with some text, other shapes in the software or purchased in the store or by adding elements from a kit.

I did both in this example.

Now you can use this card on your scrapbook page in your photobook by adding your photos, backgrounds and other embellishments.

If you want to be able to change or use your card again be sure to save your creation. You can also export it as a .png file by clicking on share and export and then choose the export type.

Here are some other cards I made with my new kit Pastel Vintage. It’s in store now and on sale here.

On this layout I show you a way to use journal cards on your page.

I have many set with journal cards in store, you can also buy the matching kit to make cards yourself. You can find them here.

My store is on sale or 30% off this weekend.
