Below are the steps on how to use the mask feature:
1. Add the embellishment mask to your page.
2. With the embellishment selected, click on the photo icon, under the embellishments control panel.
3. Select a photo from your computer, and click ok.
4. The selected image will fill the .png image on the page.
The image fill may appear a little blurry as it is a subsampled version of the original photo. To get a good idea for how the image will actually look in the filled embellishment go to the Album menu > Preview > Print Quality, or export your pages as a JPG and review the JPG.

This may be a dumb question, but where is the mask to be able to add it in the first place?? I checked in embellishments but don't see it. Thanks for your help!
Doesn't work! Followed directions! What is wrong?
HEllo,
1- You add it as an embellishment. There is not a specific tool to add mask, it is simple that way, you can use any PNG file as a mask (even tag, flower or any other coloured or black embellishment).
2- You simply add a photo inside it by clicking the photo icon which is in the EMBELISHMENT tab.
Hope that help.
Thank you so very much for the clarification. It now works! So happy!
When adding photo to a mask or PNG, many times the photo subject doesn't end up where I want it placed. I've been unable to figure out a way to move a photo around in the mask. Is there a way to do this? It seems that it has to be a lucky coincidence of photo & mask combination sizes to get a good placement of the subject.
I am experiencing the same issue ... unable to adjust the photo to mask or visa versa.
I agree with the placement of photo in mask. Needs tool that will let you move photo around in mask area.
I have been playing around trying to get photos placed correctly, I even resized photo - didn't help. I hope you can fix this problem- I really like using the mask feature.
I am new to MyMemories, but I have elements from previous Photoshop and a competitor's Digital Scrapbook, so I have lots of things I would like to use. Masks is one of them. I saw this to be able to use Masks, but once I bring in the picture, I can't move it around for best fit in the Mask. I saw other's have said they have the same issue, but that was back in 2017. Has there been any improvements on using Masks in Suite9, now in 2019?
Nice tutorial. This information is very useful to us. Thanks for sharing with us.
To adjust the photo within the mask, just double click on the mask/photo and that opens a window where you can reposition the photo. This selection is also available with other embellishments, like shapes, etc.
I'm having trouble with this too. I can move the photo around in the mask, reposition it just like I want, but when I click OK the photo is not where I want it. What am I doing wrong? I love this feature, but am frustrated with trying to make it work.
Hi Lynn, Sorry to hear you are having trouble positioning the image within the mask. Make sure you are using the latest version of My Memories Suite for best results. You could aslo try zooming the image a little to see if that helps. Otherwise you might try a different image where the aspect ratio is different for instance landscape vs portrait to see if that helps. You can also send us an email supportmm@storyrock.com with some screenshots of how things are behaving on your computer. That way we might be able to provide specific help.
So awesome and amazing post here you have published . I have read and appreciated.
Hey! Your guide on using the mask feature in MyMemories Suite is fantastic. Clear steps and great tips—can't wait to try them out in my next project. Thanks for sharing!
