Meet MyMemories Designer....KittenScraps!

My real name is Nathalie and I design under the name KittenScraps.  I was never interested in actually scrapping, I wanted to learn “how did they do that” in Photoshop. For awhile I had a blog on blogspot where I created papers and elements using actions and then did a few layouts of my own...and from there I was hooked.  Due to work and kids however I got away from designing and then in 2013 I found I had the time again with the kids in college and work slowing down AND my partner buying me a new Mac for Christmas.  I decided to jump in with both feet at this point, started my own blog again and away I went.
I’m often asked where I get my idea’s for my kits and layouts.  Don’t laugh but I go to our local craft supply store and browse and not just at scrapbooking stuff.  Sometimes I’ll see a vase, or flower arrangement or store display and I’ll snap a picture for future reference. I also like to create kits that I would use if given the time to scrap all of my personal photo’s.  Lucky for me however I have a daughter who likes to scrap and can do a few layouts for me as well.
About me personally, I’m a geek, a nerd...whatever you want to call it.  I love sci-fi and even dragged my bf to FanExpo to meet Patrick Stewart and have our picture taken together.  Thankfully Darren is just as big of a geek as I am.  I love Game of Thrones, Star Trek, Monty Python and I am hooked on Audio Books which I listen to while I design or on car trips.  I have four kids of my own, and three step kids all between the ages of 27-20.  I love to shop but Darren would tell you I squeak-I HATE paying full price for anything.  I won’t buy it unless it is a bargain and I’m the queen of finding items at unbelievable prices. I knit, crochet, prefer the old fashioned fountain pens to ballpoints, love to read the classics and am currently reading the original Grimm's Fairy Tales-all 270 some of them and I have a sweet tooth for dark chocolate and sour candy.

My scrapbooking goal for this year is to continue with my clip art and create the larger kits similar to the one’s I’ve done the past few months.  I’ll be cutting down on my hours as an office manager starting in June so I’ll be dedicating more time to scrapping and designing.  I’m very excited about this change and the opportunity it gives me to design on a full time basis.
