I forgot to put my journaling on this layout — a topic for a whole different blog post, believe me. I often look back at older pages and wish I’d written down the little details that mattered in the moment.
For this page, I was truly focusing on the good. My dog is a full grown Labrador. Her tummy was touching the snow most places she walked. We had almost 12 inches of snow, but we had groceries, heat, and nowhere we needed to be. Sometimes that’s the win.
Now, let’s talk patterned papers. They can be a challenge — the print can feel a bit big, or bolder than you want, and it’s easy to worry they’ll compete with your photo.
For the sample, I used the February The Bright Side Use It All Challenge mini. Because I didn’t want the patterns to overwhelm my photo, I resized the papers very close to the size I needed. That makes the pattern feel more concentrated and less “busy,” so it supports the page instead of taking it over.
