🍂 Falling in Love – October Use It All Challenge

Do you ever have one of those stressful days where you think to yourself, I NEED TO CREATE… but you’re short on time and pulled in a dozen directions? Today was one of those days for me.

I grabbed the October Use It All Mini and one of my favorite fall photos, and just started playing. Instead of picking papers one by one, I hit Command A (Control A on PC) to select all four papers and opened them together in Photoshop. No overthinking—just placing them into my layout. Then I repeated the process with the elements, dragging them in as they opened.

It turned out to be the perfect quick stress-reliever… and I love the result. This tree in our backyard never fails to put on a show. 🍁

Design tip: A participant in the UIA challenge colored the date she needed on the date strip. I copied the number I needed, added a thin stroke in the same color as my numbers, and it created the perfect subtle detail. 👌

You will be directed to each designers store at the MyMemories site. If you have not already done so, you will need to sign up for an account (note: this is a one time sign up and no purchase is necessary).

There is a special link to each designers gift that must be obtained from each designer. That link will take you to their store and their gift.

The new process is:

1. Visit each designer’s blog or FB posting for their preview & special link

2. Click on the link provided you will then be taken to their MyMemories store

3. Place their gift in your shopping cart

4. Check out when you have all the gifts collected

Who remembers Neil Diamond and his song "Sweet Caroline"? Its catchy melody, simple sing along lyrics and association with celebratory moments has made it a cultural phenomenon! Sweet Caroline is a wonderful collection to scrap up your happy times. 

The bright color palette inspired me! It includes: coral, pumpkin & tangerine; cranberry, magenta & fuchsia; teal & seafoam; goldenrod & ginger; and peanut & coffee. The elements are traditional and happy: word strips (including blanks), buttons, bubbles (!), frames, a lace butterfly, ribbons and bows, and flowers and foliage.

Believe it or not, Autumn is just around the corner! This collection, Forest Friends, celebrates the season as well as the sweet animals that can be found in the forest. It's ideal for scrapping nature walks, zoo visits with the kids or grandkids, camping trips and so much more.
