September Use It All — Save the Date

A new month means a new Use It All Challenge! For September, we’re working with the Save the Date Sampler, featuring warm gold, rich burgundy, soft mauve, pretty florals, butterflies, and elegant little details.

A Little Save the Date Inspiration

In the meantime, I thought I’d share a little inspiration I created with the sampler. I tried a few things on this layout that I don’t normally do, and I really like how they turned out.

First, I used a patterned paper as the border around the entire page instead of reaching for cardstock.

Second, I used both the solid paper and one of the patterned papers to create vellum-like tape to hold the photo in place. It lets the colors and patterns show through while still adding another layer around the photo.

I also gave the journal block a vellum look so the pretty patterned paper underneath could peek through instead of being completely covered.

Sometimes it’s fun to take the pieces in a small sampler and see how many different ways you can use them. I hope this gives you an idea or two for your own September Use It All layout!
