Use It All Tip: Try Black & White Photos

One of the fun challenges with the Use It All sampler is finding creative ways to make every piece work on your page. If the colors in the mini don’t quite match the photo you want to use, don’t forget that you can always change your photo to black and white.

Using a black and white photo is a simple way to keep the focus on the memory you want to document while still letting the sampler shine. It helps the colors and patterns in the mini take center stage, and it can also give your page a softer or more classic feel.

In the examples here, you can see how the same layout takes on a different look depending on whether the photo stays in color or is changed to black and white. Both work beautifully, but black and white can be especially helpful when you want to use a favorite photo that doesn’t naturally coordinate with the kit.

So if you’re working on your Use It All page and feel stuck because of color, try a quick black and white conversion. It might be the perfect solution!
