When I finish one, I replace it.  I can read while my husband is watching TV. He likes me to keep him company. I do not tell him that I am far away when reading, even if my body is near.  I just started the book Auschwitz and After by Charlotte Delbo. It is a very different sort of memoir. Delbo wrote of her experiences in poetry and lyrical prose.
