My STRAWBERRY MOON Collection is full of berries (of course), flowers, desserts made from berries, and a delightful mix of other elements to celebrate the beginning of summer.

The June full moon is commonly known as the “Strawberry Moon” the name used by Native American Algonquian tribes that live in the northeastern US as well as the Ojibwa, Dakota, and Lakota peoples of the plains to mark the ripening of strawberries that are ready to be gathered. The Haida use the broader term “Berries Ripen Moon”. The Cherokee use “Green Corn Moon” to honor the planting of their most important crop. For the Tlingit, the June moon is “Birth Moon”, recognizing the birth cycle of animals in the Pacific northwest. There are other names as well for the June full moon, this is certainly not an exhaustive list.
