Scrapping from A - Z with Kathryn Estry

Hi!  I'm Kathryn, and I design for My Memories.  I am now in my sixth round of my scrap series, From A to Z! With every post, I'll give you an inspiration to make your pages look amazing. The talented ladies on my Creative Team give me plenty of layouts, and I'm happy to share them with you!

I know you like FREE scrap supplies, right?  I'll show you a couple of layouts in each of my blogs posts, and I invite you to try some of your own! Post your layouts in my matching Challenge Thread, Scrapping with Kathryn from A to Z. Everyone who posts a layout in this month's thread will receive from me the prize I have posted with this month's challenge.  To make it extra sweet, your layout can be about anything I've shown you in ANY of my A to Z challenges!

Now, on to today's idea.

J is for ...

Journal Bits!

Those of us who have been scrapping for a while know that journaling on a page makes it so much more interesting.  Your eye naturally goes to faces and words.  Even something simple like a date or a one-word title gets attention.  To encourage bits of journaling, I include in a lot of my collections what I call Journal Bits.  They're anything from tabs to tags, from labels to journal mats and even title strips ... any type of little elements that you can write on.  Journaling is as easy as taking one of my journal bits, maybe a tag, and adding it to your page.  Then on the tag, put a date or a name or a sentence about the photo.  This will make your page complete and will help those who see your page know more about the photo you've scrapped.  If you're like me - no so young and with a memory that's slush :) - you'll really appreciate that date or name the next time you look at your own page!

Here are some of my Journal Bits sets along with wonderful layouts made by my Creative Team using my journal bits.

Precious layouts by Lana and Donna using Crazy Days June:

Donna and Lana again share some of their sweet pages using journal bits.

This time I have layouts by Lana, Donna, Jen, Sharon, and Beth.

A big THANK YOU to all of the ladies who contributed their pages to this post.  Remember to head over to my A to Z Challenge, check out the prize, and show me a great layout where you've used some sort of journal bit with a date, a word, or a little more!
