Designer Tip from LLL Creations

Can't find the perfect background for your photos? It might be right in your photo stash!

When we are creating layouts, we are always thinking about finding the perfect background paper for the photos we want to scrap. Usually it's a color that we pull from one of the photo's to enhance the layout. But sometimes we have the perfect background right in our photos folder.

Last year my husband, brother and sister in law went to Ireland for a vacation. My mother was born in Ireland and I have always wanted to visit her birth town. Over the next 10 days we took a ton of photos and of course the first thing I did when I returned home was started scrapping them. I had created a kit called 'Travelling Ireland' (available HERE) to scrap this vacation and had a ton of fun using it for my layouts. But as I was creating layout after layout I realized I had some really cool photos that could be used as backgrounds.

In this layout it was a rainy day and we found this pretty marina which had graceful swans enjoying the weather. So one of the photo's I took of the marina was a perfect background for the beautiful swans.

When you visit castles in Ireland you will take so many photos. So in this layout I used one of the photos of the entrance as a background.

On one of our drives we came upon a pretty road which lead us to a beautiful view of this water way and as we walked to the water found this cute Irish Robin ... so this photo made the perfect background for these photos.

Sunsets make perfect background papers. If you are anything like me, once you see a sunset, you can't stop snapping photos!

So the next time you are scrapping a vacation or a holiday or any occasion where you have taken a lot of photos, take a peek at your photos to see if you've got the perfect background to enhance the other photos you have taken. It makes a nice variety for your layouts and to your overall photo book.

**In My Memories Suite just click on Backgrounds/Add and Browse to your photo to add it as a background.

Have fun!
