Today's challenge is hosted by MyMemories Designer Elizabeth's Market Cross

What’s in a Name?
This is a great heritage or genealogy challenge – but an interest in genealogy is not required! You can scrap your surname for any album.
I did pages for all the surnames on my father’s side that I had further pages to scrap on that part of the family. I ordered them with the name page first, then the pages on those family members, then the next name, and so on. An overall genealogy chart page begins my book so the reader knows what to expect inside.
If you are working up your genealogy chart, make a note of which surnames in your family you want to research.  Then, do a little research JUST on the name, for starters.
Once you find some history on your chosen surname, do a layout with the NAME large! No photos are necessary – these make great header pages for a section or a whole book. See my example layout. The products used for the layout are a background from Free Spirit Backgrounds 2, and an overlay from Shabby Floral Overlays Set 1.

There are several sites for you to find the information on names; here are a few:

Please accept my gift of a set of overlays to enhance your page. These will be free for a limited time so grab them now!

Pair them with a background, add your name and the information you found, and Voila! Perfect addition to your family scrapbook!

Thanks! Elizabeth
