For the Love of the Game

As summer has come to an end and Fall seems like it’s going to be shorter than ever (at least here in Utah) that means a lot of sports leagues are ending. I hope that everyone took plenty of pictures and captured some incredible memories. There are some great designs in the shop to help show off those wonderful moments - make sure you check them out. I used the Victory Road Sports Pack and Soccer Goal by StoryRock to capture my son‘s first season of soccer.





When you create your layouts don’t be scared to mix and match from other kits. In the ‘Soccer Is Life’ layout I used the Victory Road Sports Pack and Soccer Goal kit by StoryRock, elements from Magical Memories from the Ettes and Company, an overlay from Kitty Designs, and Remington Portable font from Lettering Delights.

Don’t forget to check out our Facebook page for inspiration. There are tons of great tips and tricks being shared and tons of layouts that can be lifted for quick and easy flair to any design!

How to use outside content in your My Memories Suite!

Hi all! For those of you who have acquired great stashes of goodies that are NOT My Memories Suite items, don't worry! You can still use your MMS program to make the most incredible pages ever! Here are a few simple steps to find your goodies (actually two ways) try them both and see what works for you!

** IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE RUNNING VISTA: RIGHT CLICK YOUR PROGRAM ICON AFTER COMPLETING THE STEPS BELOW AND THEN CHOOSE "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" TO OPEN YOUR PROGRAM - THIS SEEMS TO ELIMINATE SOME OF THE GLITCHES THAT VISTA CREATES**

One VERY quick and easy way to find anything digital (kit/paper/embellishment/

jpeg graphic/clipart graphic/png file) - anything saved on your computer is this:

- Open the album you are working on

- Click on the ADD EMBELLISHMENT button (either on the top menu or from the EMBELLISHMENTS tab on the CONTROL PANEL on the right hand side of your screen)

- In the CHOOSE EMBELLISHMENT pop up panel, click on the BROWSE OTHER box located below your embellishments list

- After clicking on that you can navigate to ANY file on your computer (this is helpful if you have items on a flash drive or separate external hard drive)

- Locate the desired embellishment in that file and click on it (in the preview panel), then click OK. Your desired embellishment will be added to your page.

THE GREAT THING ABOUT THIS PROCESS IS THAT YOU CAN ADD ANY EMBELLISHMENT, GRAPHIC, EVEN BACKGROUND PAPER THIS WAY - THIS IS ESPECIALLY NICE IF YOU WANT A BACKGROUND PAPER AS A "MAT" OR TO BE ABLE TO RESIZE IT OR SHAPE IT ON YOUR PAGE!

The other way you can add outside items to your MMS program is to actually create files that you add to your MMS program files!

- Download a new kit, graphic, picture, or whatever you like to your computer

- Click on your Windows START MENU (button at the bottom left of your screen)

- Open the C DRIVE (or wherever your program files are)

- Open the PROGRAM FILES folder

- Open the MY MEMORIES SUITE folder (NOT opening the program, just the folder)

- Open the COMPONENTS folder


(FOR EMBELLISHMENTS)

- Open the EMBELLISHMENTS folder

- Open the 1-DESIGNER EMBELLISHMENTS folder

- Drag or copy and paste your content into the DESIGNER EMBELLISHMENTS folder (you will probably want to put them in a category folder like Autumn, rather than directly inside this folder)

(FOR BACKGROUND PAPERS)

- Open the BACKGROUNDS folder

- Open the THEMES folder

- Open a category folder, if desired

- Drag you new content into the folder

Then close all that up and start your MMS program.

** IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE RUNNING VISTA: RIGHT CLICK YOUR PROGRAM ICON AND THEN CHOOSE "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" TO OPEN YOUR PROGRAM - THIS SEEMS TO ELIMINATE SOME OF THE GLITCHES THAT VISTA CREATES**

Then you can access your new goodies in the same manner as you do when you open items you buy directly from MMS.

Both ways have their advantages and drawbacks - just figure which is right for you!

Ready for Halloween???

It's that time of year when little Goblins and Ghoulies roam the night! Well, they are dressed like that anyway! Week 5 "Page of the Week" winners from Facebook!

Hi all!  Just a quick note to let you know that the new "Page of the Week" winners are posted on the Facebook page!  Make sure you check it out!  The pages get better and better every week and it gets harder and harder to choose just a few to pick as the winners...  I am *so* excited to see the wonderful great ideas that all of our friends on Facebook are sharing.  Some of the pages are so touching and it is such a treat to share in the family stories that all of you are sharing.  We are able to share great creative ideas with each other and I think everyone learns something new each time!  So, a special congratulations to Carrie, Crystal and Kate!  Fabulous job girls!
