Q&A With The Designer: QueenBrat Digital Designs

Who Are You?
I was born and raise in West Virginia. I am a retired medical lab tech. I am Momma to
four children that I raised alone after a 12 year marriage. My oldest son passed away in 2013 from liver failure due to PSC. My three other children are all adults now. I currently live with my youngest son.

How long have you been designing?
I have been designing scrap kits since 2003 and joined MyMemories in December of 2011. That's almost 22 years now! I have been thinking about retiring in the near future.

Who is a very special person in your life?
I have special people in my life--my grandchildren! They are my heart and soul. I now have four: Riley 16, Remi Jade 9, Vinny 4, and Rowan 3.

Aside from the necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
Coffee!!! Hot, cold, espresso, cappuccino, iced, anyway you fix it......but I must have my coffee. Back in the days when my title was "Mom's Taxi" my kids woke me up with a cup because I'm not my cheerful self without a caffeine boost.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I'm definitely a night owl. When the kids were little I was in college and I would stay up studying after they went to bed at night. After graduating my shifts in the hospital were mostly evenings and midnights so I could spend more time with my kids. So my body adjusted to being up all night and functioning on little sleep. I've never gotten out of that habit.

DYL: Old time Influencer - Heritage Scrappers Collection from Diane, ADB Designs

We all know about today's "influencers" and how they can drive the public's decisions and purchases. My new Heritage Scrappers Collection - Old Time Influencer - is something of a tongue-in-cheek look at "vintage influencers" from past eras as seen through advertising of the day. This collection will make it easy to create heritage pages with the era-related elements; it works well for both men and women.

The elements are definitely vintage. There's lots of ephemera, some hardware and bling, frames, ribbons and plenty of florals and foliage. The color palette is soft and fabulous: sky blue, melon, and neutrals of tan, ivory and slate.
