Let’s welcome Julie C Designs as this week’s Featured Designer! Q&A With The Designer: Julie C Designs What is the BEST meal you have ever eaten? Anything my Dad cocked, he was a fantastic cook and I loved his meals. Have you ever met a celebrity or famous person? Yes, Steve Irwin (the Crocodile Hunter), my youngest son is married to his niece. He was just as you saw him on TV, he loved animals but Bindi & Robert, he adored, and they are just like him, he is really missed. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Rabaul, New Guinea, where I grew up, but sadly it is under mountains of volcanic ash now. What is your proudest accomplishment? My children. Where do you call home? I have always called Rabaul 'home' (my heart will always be there), but these days we live in a rural area in Queensland, Australia. I love having plenty of animals around. We have Koalas, Kangaroos, Bandicoots (that seem to love coming into the house, which of course brings the snakes in). Echidna's, one day during pouring rain we had a crayfish walk up our dirt driveway, and another time 4 turtles came to the door. Just last week my oldest son came up the road to be stopped while around 30 feral pigs walking up the road. The funniest time for me was when I opened the front door to a cow, munching on one of my plants, and a few weeks ago, son was playing with his remote control car, on the race track that he built, with both the dog and a cow chasing it, every time he stopped the cow would stop and as soon as it started up of they would go again. What is your favorite holiday? Frater Island. We would go there for every holiday during the year, for about 10 years. Camping on the beach with a fresh water creek out front and the surf rolling in, it was so relaxing. I still love Fraser but as with all things, it has changed, to many people and now too many rules.
